Cincinnati Bengals Inside Slant 2008-11-12
The Bengals felt about as good at their bye as any team could feel with a 1-8 record.

They went back to work Monday with an afternoon practice in preparation for their Week 11 game Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium against the Eagles.

Quarterback Carson Palmer will not practice this week or play on Sunday. Ryan Fitzpatrick will make his fifth start in a row and sixth of the season.

Players will get their regular off-day Tuesday before returning to their normal schedule of practice Wednesday through Friday. The Bengals did practice for 90 minutes Monday.

The Bengals are coming off their first victory of the season, 21-19 over Jacksonville.

"It doesn't feel so great to be 1-8, but, yes, the win feels great," cornerback Leon Hall said. "Now we get a chance to get some banged-up guys healed, to get back feeling like the first week of the season again, and maybe get a little streak going."

Before heading off for their break, several Bengals players echoed coach Marvin Lewis' message that they'd like to "run the table" -- winning their last seven games in a row.

But the upcoming weeks will not be easy ones for the Bengals.

Their next three opponents -- Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Baltimore -- are a combined 16-10.

Then there is a road game at 5-4 Indianapolis before the Bengals come home to face 6-3 Washington.

Division rivals Pittsburgh and Baltimore already have defeated the Bengals.
