Amid speculation his job is in jeopardy, Cleveland Browns coach Romeo Crennel said Monday he is not worried about his future.
Expected to be a playoff contender after winning 10 games last season, the Browns lost their third consecutive home game and fell to 4-7 on Sunday after an embarrassing 16-6 loss to the Houston Texans . Crennel, 24-35 since taking over in 2005, was disappointed with his team's performance and said the "buck stops with me."
"I don't worry about it. I can't control it," he said. "The thing I can control is whether we win or lose. If we win, that improves my chances. If we don't, then that hurts my chances."
Crennel said quarterback Brady Quinn, who broke the tip of his right index finger in a win last week against Buffalo, has a damaged tendon that affects the rotation on his passes.
BEARS: Guard Terrance Metcalf was activated after he served a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances.
Bengals: Quarterback Carson Palmer will throw in two weeks and then decide whether his passing elbow needs reconstructive surgery. Palmer acknowledged Monday that the ligament and tendon in his right elbow are partially torn. The Bengals also put defensive ends Robert Geathers and Frostee Rucker on injured reserve.
CARDINALS: Backup cornerback and special teams player Michael Ware will undergo surgery to repair a facial fracture and will miss Thursday's game.
COWBOYS: Dallas will be without left guard Kyle Kosier (foot) and rookie cornerback Mike Jenkins (hamstring) against the Seahawks on Thursday. Suspended cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones was back at work, going to meetings and a practice even though he can't suit up until Dec. 7 against Pittsburgh.
DOLPHINS: Wide receiver Greg Camarillo will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury suffered against New England on Sunday.
EAGLES: Donovan McNabb, pulled at halftime from Sunday's game, will start against Arizona on Thursday.
JAGUARS: Veteran guard Milford Brown and defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy were waived.
STEELERS: Mitch Berger is replacing punter Paul Ernster, who averaged only 31.3 yards on 12 punts before being released.
