Jacksonville Jaguars News

-Cleveland is not Peyton's Place. Peyton Manning is 4-0 in his career in Cleveland, but his games there have been struggles. In his last three starts, he has thrown five interceptions and no touchdowns. His only TD passes in Cleveland came in 2002 when the expansion Browns were in their debut season. Since then, the Colts have prevailed 9-6 in 2003, 13-6 in 2005 and 10-6 on Sunday.

-The New York Giants improved to 11-1 and hold a three-game lead in the NFC East with four games to play. "This season is a long way from over," Giants defensive end Justin Tuck said. "Dallas was in this position last year. There's a lot of Football to be played. Right now, we're in a good spot, but we have to continue to get better. In the NFL, things can turn around real quickly."

-A Palmer finally returned to the field in Cincinnati to take offensive snaps for the Bengals. But it was the wrong one. Veteran Pro Bowl quarterback Carson Palmer remained sidelined for a seventh consecutive week with an elbow injury, but his younger brother Jordan got to play in a mop-up role for Ryan Fitzgerald in a blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens . Jordan threw his first two NFL passes. Ravens safety Jim Leonhard returned one 35 yards for a touchdown.

-The NFL produced a four-touchdown back for the second consecutive week, and both games involved the Carolina Panthers. DeAngelo Williams scored on four 1-yard runs for the Panthers against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Last week, Michael Turner scored four times for Atlanta against Carolina.

-Passing is not the exclusive domain of NFL quarterbacks. Ravens WR Mark Clayton threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to fellow WR Derrick Mason against the Bengals, and Dolphins HB Ronnie Brown completed a 12-yard toss to TE David Martin in Miami's Wildcat formation.

-Tampa Bay's Carnell Williams scored on an 8-yard run against New Orleans. It was his first TD since Sept. 23, 2007. He suffered a season-ending knee injury the following week last season and also missed the first nine games of the 2008 season as he was rehabilitating. His TD against the Saints came in his third game back.

-LaDainian Tomlinson has failed to rush for 100 yards in any of his six home games and scored only three touchdowns. A year ago he scored 10 TDs at home. Little wonder the Chargers are 3-3 at home and just 4-8 overall. Tomlinson rushed for a season-low 24 yards against Atlanta on Sunday.

-Matt Cassel's run of 400-yard passing games for New England ended with a thud Sunday against the NFL's top-ranked pass defense. The Pittsburgh Steelers limited Cassel to 169 yards, intercepted two of his passes and sacked him five times in a 33-10 victory.
